Celebrating Passover with Manischewitz

When I think about the seder, I immediately think of matzah and 4 cups of Manischewitz wine. Even though we can’t eat chametz (leavened food) for 8 days, Passover food doesn’t need to be bland or boring. In fact, I like that it challenges me to get creative in the kitchen and I’m grateful to Manischewitz for offering such a large and diverse variety!

Hanukkah Pajamas Roundup 2020!

Hanukkah begins early this year (December 10) and it’s 2020, so we could all use something to get excited about… so holiday season is already in full swing here! One of my favorite Hanukkah traditions is wearing matching pajamas as a family. There are so many cute options out there this year and I rounded up my favorite picks in this blog post. I included options for baby, toddler, kids, and adults - there’s truly something for everyone! (Pro tip: If you see a pair you like, I would buy it ASAP because these styles tend to sell out quick and shipping times this year have had many delays!)

Just click on the link that corresponds with the number in the collage. I also linked to each pair in the pictures at the bottom of this post - so simply click on the picture to shop for the pair you like! I hope this makes your Hanukkah pajamas search a little bit easier! Celebrating Passover while Social Distancing

2020 is shaping up to be a year full of surprises... the biggest one of course being Covid-19 and how it has changed all of our lives, no matter where we live. Up until a few weeks ago, I was planning to celebrate the Passover seders with my family in NJ and my husband's family in MA and then the girls and I were going to spend the rest of the holiday in Florida. Now it's looking like we'll be staying home in Brooklyn as we're still in this time of social distancing. But that doesn't mean we have to sacrifice having beautiful seders and a meaningful holiday celebration.

With so many things happening in the world right now, I'm choosing to focus on the things I can control. And for me that means making the holidays extra special for my family, no matter where we're celebrating this year! Whether you plan to celebrate with your immediate family, hold a virtual seder, or even prepare a seder for one, your home and table can still look beautiful! The table is the center of that celebration and I am so excited to collaborate with Peace Love Light Shop to share inspiration for my seder table this year.

Purim 2019: DIY Baby Shark Family Costume

This year was our first Purim as a family of 4. It is customary on this Jewish holiday to dress in costume. If you’ve been following me for a little while, you know I love to dress up in costume and when possible, have a matching theme with my family. Despite my attempts to shield my toddler from the Baby Shark pop song craze, it was unavoidable and she and drank the Baby Shark cool-aid. She was officially hooked and requested to play the song or music video nearly everyday for the past 3 months! The upbeat melody and repetitive lyrics were always in my head, no matter how much I tried not to think about the song! (Sorry in advance for getting it stuck in your head!) I figured, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em… and thus, my inspiration for our family Purim costume was born! Keep reading to see how I our matching shark family costumes came to life:

DIY Unicorn Costume

I absolutely love playing dress up so I knew we would have fun with Halloween and get into the holiday spirit this year. When brainstorming costumes, I wanted to come up with a matching idea for Adina and me and keep it simple. I started by taking stock of what I already owned to see if I could draw any inspiration from our existing items. Someone had gifted a rainbow tutu to Adina and I happened to have two faux flower crown headbands. From these items, our matching unicorn costumes were born!
