When I think about the seder, I immediately think of matzah and 4 cups of Manischewitz wine. Even though we can’t eat chametz (leavened food) for 8 days, Passover food doesn’t need to be bland or boring. In fact, I like that it challenges me to get creative in the kitchen and I’m grateful to Manischewitz for offering such a large and diverse variety!

Have you ever heard of this Jewish holiday? 🌳 Also known as the new year of the trees, Tu Bishvat reminds us of our connection to the earth and to our role as caretakers of the environment! 🌍 Kind of like the Jewish earth day! In my opinion, Tu Bishvat is one of the most underrated holidays. 🌱 After all, at first glance - celebrating trees in the dead of winter doesn’t make the most sense. 🤔 But it happens to be one of my favorites! We get to plant trees, try new fruits, and enjoy a festive meal with lots of wine! It's safe to say that the holidays have become even more special to me now that I'm a mom. There's nothing like seeing the world through your child's eyes and Hanukkah is especially magical! 🕎 Adina and Noa absolutely love reading and we've been building quite the collection of Hanukkah books over the years. In the weeks leading up to Hanukkah, the girls pick out a holiday book to read together every night before bed. We are loving the newest addition to our collection from @officialpeppa Peppa Pig's Book Club - Happy Hanukkah!

Hanukkah begins early this year (December 10) and it’s 2020, so we could all use something to get excited about… so holiday season is already in full swing here! One of my favorite Hanukkah traditions is wearing matching pajamas as a family. There are so many cute options out there this year and I rounded up my favorite picks in this blog post. I included options for baby, toddler, kids, and adults - there’s truly something for everyone! It’s my favorite time of year! The seasons are changing and the girls + I had the sweetest picnic in the park on Sunday 🧺 We brought along all the essentials - snacks, blankets, and some of our favorite High Holiday books from PJ Library. Although this year feels different, we are still just as excited for Rosh Hashana as ever! I love finding new ways to celebrate and I’m grateful to have so many resources from PJ Library to help us along the way.

2020 is shaping up to be a year full of surprises... the biggest one of course being Covid-19 and how it has changed all of our lives, no matter where we live. Up until a few weeks ago, I was planning to celebrate the Passover seders with my family in NJ and my husband's family in MA and then the girls and I were going to spend the rest of the holiday in Florida. Now it's looking like we'll be staying home in Brooklyn as we're still in this time of social distancing. But that doesn't mean we have to sacrifice having beautiful seders and a meaningful holiday celebration.

With so many things happening in the world right now, I'm choosing to focus on the things I can control. And for me that means making the holidays extra special for my family, no matter where we're celebrating this year! Whether you plan to celebrate with your immediate family, hold a virtual seder, or even prepare a seder for one, your home and table can still look beautiful!
