Girls' Shared Bedroom Reveal

I am so excited to finally share photos and details of the girls’ shared room! This post has been a long time coming! After Noa started consistently sleeping through the night (you can read about her sleep journey here) we knew she was ready to move into the same room as her big sister. We hadn’t really made any changes to Adina’s room since she was a baby (you can see Adina’s nursery reveal from 3 years ago here) so this was the perfect opportunity to give the space a makeover. Keep reading to see how we transformed our old nursery into the girls’ shared bedroom!

The room is not that big, so the challenge was creating a multifunctional space that felt like a big girl room and a nursery at the same time. As I got started on this project I had a few goals in mind:

  1. Create 2 distinct sleeping spaces

  2. Upgrade Adina from a crib to a big-girl bed

  3. Create more organized storage solutions for their clothes, toys, and books

First we got rid of the futon - so much more space! I used our Little Nomad play mat (which looks like a beautiful rug) to define Adina’s sleeping area. Then we installed Adina’s new toddler bed. Because of the unique layout of the room, we got this convertible crib and just assembled it without one of the sides. I like that it has drawers on the bottom for additional storage. It aesthetically looks great with the crib we have. We got new bedding and pillows for her, but Adina’s favorite part of her new bed is this beautiful pink canopy that drapes over it. She absolutely loves playing with her dolls there and I like that the canopy adds an element of privacy for her in their shared room.

I tried to use as much existing decor as possible and just changed around the location of the artwork and the mirror to give the room a new feeling. We did add a few new pieces from some of my favorite small shops though, like the gorgeous felt floral garland above their mirror, the rainbow bow hangers, and the framed personalized “A” and “N” initial prints. We added this over the door rack for some extra storage and it’s perfect for displaying the girls’ hair accessories. Without further ado, here is the girls’ shared room! Before they officially began sharing a room, I was so nervous about how moving them into the same room would affect each of their sleep. But now I think it was the best thing we ever did! Adina is stoked to have a “sleepover” with her sister every night and I think Noa is sleeping even better than she was before, now that she’s out of the travel crib and in a full-size crib of her own. I’m thrilled for all the memories the girls are already making together!
